Kourosh Lachini

Introduction
Dr. Kourosh Lachini, an Islamic Azad University graduate, has been teaching English as a Foreign Language for the past 25 years at different levels of education from junior high school to Ph D levels in different countries of the world. He has also extensively published and presented locally and internationally in the fields of language testing and assessment, linguistics, and English language teaching methodology. His areas of interest lie in Discourse Analysis, Learning Strategies (Metacognition), Testing and Assessment, Critical Thinking, Philosophy of Language, and English Phonetics and Phonology.
Kourosh is currently an academic member of the University of Qatar where he teaches academic and research paper writing to students of all disciplines. He is also supervisor of Test Item Quality Analysis team at this university. Kourosh has presented his research results several times in the USA, Canada, Japan, Korea, Finland, France, Italy, Malaysia, the UAE, Oman, Qatar, and Iran.
Dr. Lachini is also currently an associate editor of the Asian EFL Journal were he leads a team of academic article editors and proofreaders.
Kourosh has been awarded the Best of TESOL Arabia certificate for the excellence of research in TESOL issues in 2005.
Kourosh was also the chair of the Qatar TESOL International Conference 2006 proposals committee (Program Coordinator) and has been appointed to chair the first international conference on current trends in ELT issues held in Tehran on May 1-4, 2009. A Note on my name:
"Kourosh" is a Persian name whose equivalent in English is "Cyrus the Great", the founder of the Persian Empire about 2600 year ago.
"Lachini" is mainly an Italian family name. This family owns vyneyards for hundreds of years in Italy. Click to see.
